The Advanced Laser Clinics story
dates back to the turn of the century. It was then that the co-founders,
one a finance specialist
for a Canadian Dermatology/Plastic Surgery group, the other a
business consultant/sales manager, first met one another. Members
of the medical community, in both the United States and Canada,
brought them together. They found themselves face-to-face with
a little-known but most intriguing and rapidly developing technology:
Laser Hair Removal. At the time, Laser Hair Removal was pretty much an invisible industry.
It was not marketed aggressively to the consuming public nor was
it perceived as an integral part of a growing service sector. That
was until our co-founders entered the picture and, in turn, created
an entirely new industry. An industry founded on the firm belief
that customer satisfaction knows no boundaries. The idea was simple: pioneer a mainstream business model where
Laser Hair Removal and Skin Renewal services could be economically
mass-marketed to consumers by embracing a cosmetic approach to
a medical procedure. Their instinct proved to be right
on track. By utilizing tools such as FDA-approved equipment,
web-based
appointment scheduling,
unique service guarantees in writing, an aggressive advertising
presence, trained and certified technicians and grassroots marketing,
they opened the first Advanced Laser Clinics in Lynnwood, Washington
in April 2000. The Lynnwood clinic provided immediate validation
of the company’s mission of
providing unparalleled customer service at a competitive price. The clinic’s immediate success,
coupled with the increasing demand for services throughout the
Greater Seattle market, led to two more clinic openings in less
than six months (Bellevue and Tacoma, Washington). Word spread
quickly regarding the success of this now proven model and interested
partners (both financial and medical) began emerging…eager
to invest in clinics of their own. A corporate office was established
and several key business associates joined the team to build
the
necessary infrastructure to support
the company as it continued to grow. The foundation of long-term
stability and continued profitability was constructed. A strategic
alliance was formed with Lumenis™, the nation’s leading
manufacturer of aesthetic procedure equipment, which strengthened
pricing as well as establishing a reliable, trusted resource in
the industry. By the end of 2000, three more corporate clinics
were operating in Arizona, Utah and California. By the end of 2001, 15 corporate clinics were operating in 6 states
(Washington to Florida). Shortly thereafter, the realization surfaced
that the most effective, efficient way to grow the industry created
was to franchise the model nationwide. Today, as the industry leader,
ALC’s formula for success
has fueled a growth pattern and market penetration that is unprecedented
nationwide. Advanced Laser Clinics has grown to more than 70 clinics
coast-to-coast in 5 short years. “Owning and operating corporate
clinics allows Advanced Laser Clinics to keep a pulse on trends,
treatments and customer satisfaction,” reports ALC’s
